Katie – Age 11

Week 1:

Once, a little boy lived. He was small for an 8 year old, but plenty fast, and very kind. He was a natural soccer player with good sportsmanship too. One day, a strange man came to the field and watched this little boy play. He watched him score a goal -as goalie, and move the ball as smoothly as it was his own feet. After the game, he came up to the boy. “We need you for our team” said the strange coach. “The peacocks are failing miserably this season.”

“Peacocks?”thought the kid, “Who on Earth are the Peacocks?” Soon the boy learned. They were the most pathetic soccer team ever. He soon was scoring all the goals for this team and saved them from falling apart. But, something strange was happening. As the Peacocks grew stronger, he grew weaker. Soon, he barely was able to walk or get out of bed. But he noticed it was not only him, but it seemed that everybody else was getting weaker too.

Week 2:

Surprisingly, the door in the wall disappeared. She shivered, for my flowery pajamas were not very warm. Suddenly, a glowing light emerged from where the wooden door had once been. Forgetting that curiosity killed the cat, she ran through it. “Huh?” I thought, “wasn’t it night a minute ago?” Indeed, it wasn’t night anymore. Instead, it seemed to be midday, and the sun was shining down on me. She studied the scenery ahead. To my right, there was a lush green forest. To my left, water so clean you could see every little fish. Ahead of me was a large moor, and behind was the very wall I had crossed before, except now it was made of saphire.

As I walked back toward the portal, being a coward, I spotted a young woman, dressed in old fashioned clothing, gliding by. She noticed me almost immediately. I stood there waiting for the worst, but what I got was so much different. She squeaked and bowed, and stuttered, “S-so you’ve f-finally r-r-returned, my Q-Queen!” She said, and ran away before I tell her that she’d made a mistake.

I’m not a queen!” she thought, “am I?” She really couldn’t make that remark, for years ago she found out she was adopted. She headed off in the direction the strange woman went, which seemed to make a beeline around the dense forest. She wondered why? Was there danger in the forest? Or did she just not like it? (To be continued)

Week 3:

As I walked in the direction of the woman, I suddenly got lost, I had left the view of the wall completely, surrounding me with marshland. I had lost sight of the woman, and everything looked the same. “I would suggest you go right.” I jumped. Who had spoken?

Suddenly, a boy appeared, pulling off a knit beanie that seemed to give him invisibility. He seemed to be around my age, 11 or 12, with sandy blonde hair. Startlingly green eyes, and loose, old fashioned clothes. “Who. On. Earth. Are. You?” I shouted. I had certainly had enough with surprises. The boy smirked. “My name is Kiadose,” he said, “and welcome back to Soria, the hidden underworld my Queen.” They both turned as something snapped.

A few minutes later, a strange group was walking along the village, an age changing lion, a girl, and a strange, annoying boy. A few minutes later, Lina (the lion) screamed, “MY QUEEN!” and she pounced on me, and Kiadose had to shove her off. The lion and boy shared their story, Lina able to choose her age, and Kiadose and orphaned immortal boy who wasn’t twelve, but 250!”Will you wipe that smirk off your face!” I cried to Kiadose!
